I’ve finally started putting some paint on the Dark Angels.
This weekend I attended First Founding’s Octoberfest in Chessington, South West London.
Work has been insanely busy of late, so I have not found the time to get much painting in.
My cityscape scenery has been left in an almost finished state, but before I move on to more urban buildings, I need to finish a project that has already been started.
I have finally settled on a Space Marine Chapter after years of flipping between several.
I liked the idea of creating my own chapter as that gives me much more flexibility regarding the rules and Chapter Tactics that I get to use. I also liked the idea of painting a Codex compliant chapter, but didn’t really want to paint Ultramarines.
One of the drawbacks to creating your own chapter is the iconography. For me, freehand icons are out of the question, and homemade transfers is another rabbit warren that I really didn’t want to go down.

First Founding Gaming club’s first Warhammer 40k tournament of the year is this Saturday (12th May). Regular readers of this blog should be aware that I am in the process of painting a table’s worth of scenery for this tournament, as such there has been no time to prepare a new army or even new units.
This means that once again, I’m sticking to good old Orks.
