The Covid Lockdown in the UK will soon be drawing to a close, and with the easing of restrictions means the return of 40K gaming (at long last!).
It has therefore dawned on me that I haven’t posted the rules for solo 40k that I had written. It’s also dawned on me that I also haven’t yet played a game with these rules!
As I’ve not played a game yet, I don’t know if these rules are any good.
Since the rules are pretty much copied from The Heroes of the Hinterlands solo campaign from White Dwarf 458 / The Glymmsforge Catacombs from Warhammer Community, but slightly adapted for 40K, they should be fine.
The main change that I made was to try and make any datasheet of troops an option to take as a kill team. This involved giving each model of the kill team the character keyword and also bumping up their wounds characteristic.
My version of the solo play rules is based around facing Orks but I’m sure they’re easily adapterable to face any 40k army with a little bit of tweaking.
I’m gonna try and give these rules a try sometime this week, but feel free to give them a go yourself.
Thanks for sharing this! I’ll download the doc and give this a shot or two when I have free time again soon.
No worries Mick. Thanks for taking a read and giving it a go. Hopefully the rules work ok!
Thanks for uploading these. Will give them a read through. Could they be used for Co-Op games too?
Cheers,
Pete.
Hi Pete,
I don’t see why they couldn’t be. Either split the player’s kill team between the player’s or add a second kill team.
I’ve not play tested so I don’t know what it would be like if you took a 10 man guard squad in comparison to a 5 man Space Marine unit, but the more models you’re using, the more players can play I suppose.
