2022 – A year in review

So 2022 has come to a close and it’s time to look back at a year of hobby from me.

Before looking at what I have achieved this year, let’s first check the list of plans that I made for myself here.

So what of this list have I completed? Absolutely none of it. Even the Stompa still sits unfinished…

I have however over the past few days completed building all of the Tau Infiltration Cadre: Burning Dawn, ready for a new army in 2023.

That’s something right?

All in all, 2022 has been quite a successful hobby year, as I’ve got quite a few models finished. I even began two new armies! (three if you include the Tau I’ve just started…)

I did suffer a bit of a blip in motivation which lead to no hobby being done for a period of time, but all in all it’s been good.

This blog also celebrated its 10 Year Anniversary, which is quite an achievement I think, even if it is only one post a month, it’s still a body of work to be proud of.

There are models that I’ve started this year but not got round to finishing yet. Once the desire to paint those models returns, I should hopefully be able to get them finished off quite quickly.

This year I didn’t take part in the hobby bingo, and while it’s a pain having to resize images for the bingo progress every time I want to upload some pictures to the blog, I kinda missed it.

After putting a hobby bingo chart together for the Half Year Review it seems only right to complete one for the end of the year to see how the second part of the year went:

What’s not included in the above chart is 15 genestealers.

In total there’s 97 miniatures and a boat load of scenery bits, so not a bad haul at the end of the day. Just one character and two kitbashed models away from tying with last year.

So what’s the plans for 2023?

Probably the same as 2022 as I failed so miserably at that plan.

Happy New Year to all!
