I’ve had this unit mostly painted for quite a while now. The only thing left to paint were their bases, but then I decided to add some different models to the squad.
Originally the entire squad consisted of just the old easy to build guardsmen (such a shame these don’t exist anymore), but the squad needed a sergeant, a vox caster and a special weapon, so swapped out 3 of the easy to build models.
It’s a nice easy colour scheme as I’ve got plenty more of the old style guardsmen to build and paint.
- Fatigues – Mechanicus Standard Grey
- Armour – Castallan Green
- Metal – Leadbelcher
- Boots and gloves – Black Legion Contrast
- Aquila – Corax White
- All over wash (except skin) – Nuln Oil (watered down 1:3)
I find myself struggling to build nowadays, as the the whole process just feels like a slog. That’s why these easy to build guardsmen were great as you’d have 5 guys built in next to no time.
