Barrels of Fun!

With all of the terrain that I’ve built and painted over the years, there is one area that I’ve been lacking in: Scatter Terrain.

While not really necessary for larger wargames such as Warhammer 40,000, for smaller skirmish games, such as Kill Team and Necromunda, scatter terrain is essential.

Enter the humble barrels.

Unlike previous barrels that I’ve painted, these are all individual so they can be stacked in a number of different ways.

I decided to go for a very simple paint scheme for these, that way I get them finished and they look different to any barrels I’ve done before.

These barrels are from the Armoured Containers set, so anyone who knows this kit will know that you don’t just get barrels, you get crates too!

I plan to have different coloured crates and different coloured Armoured Containers. At the moment, these are the only ones I’ve got finished.

Much like the barrels, these are all individual pieces so I can put them in numerous places on the battlefield.

But who doesn’t like a bit of order? So I painted the metal pallets from the old Battlefield Accessories kit.

These will be great for any kind of storage areas or loading bays my battles may be fought over.

  1. Incredible work! I once tried to paint all my barrels individually, but got bored so made them into barricade-style clumps, sped up my painting so much! Especially nice to put them all together in one big munitions dump. Very handy to fill out some Necromunda boards!
