Halloween Havoc

With the gaming club night failling on the day after Halloween, I was keen to get some Halloween themed gaming in.

As more people equals more fun, I planned to run a four player Boarding Actions game and with the added theme of Halloween, I created some additional rules to mix things up.

Halloween Havoc – Boarding Actions Rules

Use the board layout for the Failing Systems mission.

Mission Rules

At the beginning of each player’s turn, roll one D6 on the table below.

1. Knock, Knock - all closed doors open

2. No one's home - all open doors close

3. Trick - all objective markers move 7 inches in clockwise direction

4. Treat - all units within range of objective markers gain D3 lost wounds

5. What great costumes you have! - D6 x Zombies, demons or Cultists appear either on or as near to each objective as possible.

6. All out of Candy - units within range of objective markers must take a battle shock test.

Underdog Bonus: If a player receives an Underdog bonus, that players starts the battle with 1 additional CP.

Mission Objectives

Collect as much Candy as you can
Progressive Objective

From second battle round onwards, at the end of each player’s turn, the player whose turn it is scores 5VP for each objective markers they control.

Too young to go Trick or Treating by yourself
End of Game Objective

If a player’s Warlord is still alive at the end of the game, they score 15VP.

The game was fun, but some of my additional rules held up some of the players from getting stuck into each other, and so for time purposes we had to scale back a little to try and get the game finished before we were kicked out of the hall.

In the end there wasn’t time to finish and so the game was called with a victory to the Iron Warriors.
